Dušan Kovačević

Dušan Kovačević is Senior Policy Strategist at the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). He leads the ESM’s work on strategic policy reviews and works on cross-cutting policy issues linked to the institution’s mandate and strategy, while contributing to the ESM’s participation in EU fora. Since joining the ESM in 2016, he has also worked on institutional governance and evaluations of financial assistance provided by the EFSF and the ESM.

Previously, Mr Kovačević worked at the Intentional Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C., (2010 to 2016) as a policy expert supporting Fund management and Executive Board in their decision-making processes. Before that, he worked with the World Bank Group as an investment policy and promotion specialist advising governments in the Western Balkans and East Africa.

Mr Kovačević holds an MA in International Economics and European Studies from the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a BA in International Relations from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is a member of the European Evaluation Society.
