
Romain Meuwissen
Romain Meuwissen is a Financial Sector and Market Expert at the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). He monitors the resilience of the euro area financial sector, identifying financial stability risks and assessing their potential impact on the real economy.
Prior to joining the ESM, Mr Meuwissen held positions at the central banks of the Netherlands and Belgium. At De Nederlandsche Bank, he focused on financial market developments with a particular emphasis on monetary policy. At the National Bank of Belgium, he coordinated the preparation of Governing Council meetings of the European Central Bank. He began his career at ING, where he held various roles as part of the International Management Traineeship programme.
Mr Meuwissen is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Master degree in economics from the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium.
